The presentation of the latest Eichholtz collection has sparked conversations. We’ve gathered the key insights and trends that are set to define the New Collection. Join us as we explore the most interesting takeaways, providing a comprehensive overview of what's next in the world of Eichholtz design.
Ilze: Welcome to Maison Objet Paris 2025. We are privileged to be here today, offering our audience a first look at the highly anticipated new collection from Eichholtz. Joining us is Edvin Van Der Gun, the Chief Executive Designer of Eichholtz. Thank you for granting us this exclusive insight.
Edvin Van der Gun: It’s a pleasure to be here with you, Ilze.
Ilze: We are currently surrounded by the sophisticated ambiance of the second edition MET Collection. Given its remarkable reception, could you share your vision for the future of this collaboration? Are there already plans to further develop and expand this significant line?
Edvin: Indeed, the MET collaboration holds considerable strategic importance for Eichholtz. The launch of this second collection marks a significant milestone, and I can confirm that we are actively engaged in the conceptualization and design of the third installment. We anticipate it will be a truly exceptional collection. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with its unparalleled repository of over five million artifacts, provides an inexhaustible source of inspiration for us. As a designer, the process of selecting elements from such a rich historical and artistic tapestry is profoundly exciting. We eagerly look forward to its unveiling. However, it's important to acknowledge that our partnership with the Metropolitan necessitates a rigorous and time-intensive process of approvals. The museum’s curatorial team maintains a meticulous oversight, ensuring that every facet – the finish, the color palette, the intricate detailing – aligns perfectly with their standards and the integrity of the source material. Achieving this precise alignment is paramount.
Ilze: We now turn to Florian Rozen. Florian, it’s a pleasure to connect with you once again. Could you explain us the distinctive elements within this new collection, perhaps highlighting any unique inspirations that guided its creation in contrast to previous Eichholtz collections?
Florian Rozen: Certainly, Ilze. This year, our creative exploration led us to develop around four distinct and compelling themes. The first, "Natural Maximalism," embraces a richly layered aesthetic characterized by vibrant colors, diverse textures, and exquisite detailing – a deliberate departure from the more restrained, often beige-centric palettes that have defined some of our previous collections. The second theme, "Bohemian Coastal," offers a more relaxed and airy sensibility, evoking the natural textures and light associated with coastal living. "Timeless Revolution" embodies a distinctly modern and contemporary feeling, while our final theme, "Reflective Heritage," explores the captivating play of reflective surfaces and other intriguing, often unexpected, materials.
Ilze: Camilla, thank you for joining us. Could you provide our viewers with an overview of the breadth of Eichholtz's presentation this year? Specifically, how many new items are being introduced?
Camilla Ogliari, Regional Director: This year, Eichholtz is proud to present a comprehensive offering of 259 new items. This extensive collection mixes both indoor and outdoor collections, including a wide selection of accessories, sophisticated lighting solutions, and beautiful furniture pieces.
Ilze: What struck me particularly this year was the significant expansion of Eichholtz's exterior collection. This represents a notable evolution for the brand.
Camilla: Indeed, our strategic intent was to conceive of the outdoor collection not as a separate part, but rather as a natural and harmonious extension of the interior living space. We aimed to create a seamless transition between the two.
Ilze: This expanded offering will undoubtedly be welcomed by our clientele, providing greater design flexibility and the opportunity for stylistic continuity throughout their projects. The synergy between the indoor and outdoor collections is a significant advantage for those seeking a cohesive aesthetic.
Camilla: Precisely. We also gave considerable thought to the needs of customers seeking a comprehensive, "one-stop shop" solution for their design requirements. The significantly enhanced outdoor collection now allows them to achieve a unified and sophisticated look across their entire property with Eichholtz.
Ilze: Welcom Michiel, CEO of Eichholtz. The company has established a well-known global production network. Could you provide insights into Eichholtz's European manufacturing locations?
Michiel Herkemij, CEO: Well, Ilze, as you rightly point out, Eichholtz operates with a substantial global footprint. And yes, we maintain key production partnerships within Europe, including valuable collaborations in countries such as Spain, Portugal, Poland, and others.
Ilze: That’s significant news for the brand’s operational efficiency and reach. Now, Michiel, in today’s climate, sustainability is incredibly important. Could you elaborate on Eichholtz’s commitment to and advancements in sustainable practices?
Michiel: Sustainability is not merely a trend for Eichholtz; it is an integral and deeply embedded component of our corporate strategy. We firmly believe in our responsibility as a company to contribute positively to a better world and society. We are proud to announce that this new collection incorporates materials that are recyclable and degradable, and we are engaged in a continuous process of innovation and improvement in this critical area. Furthermore, we are actively implementing more sustainable practices in our packaging solutions.
Ilze: Finally, Michiel, if you had to encapsulate the essence of this new Eichholtz collection in just three words, what would they be?
Michiel: Fabulous, innovative, different.
Ilze: Edvin, Florian, Camilla, Michiel, thank you all for providing such a comprehensive and insightful look into the exciting new collection from Eichholtz at Maison Objet 2025. It’s clear that the brand continues to evolve and inspire with its commitment to design excellence and a forward-thinking approach.
